The Tendo family

Kasumi Tendo

Kasumi is the loving, caring, motherly big sister. The reason why she's like a mother to all of them is that Mrs.Tendo died some time ago, and Kasumi is like a substitute mother to the whole family. She cooks, cleans and is always there! Doctor Tofu is in love with Kasumi and he is a chiropractor that has healed and helped Akane after one of her many fights as a child. Kasumi also has her evil ways. In the OAV "Faster Kasumi, Kill, Kill!", Kasumi is invaded by an evil spirit and she grows little horns, and has claws and is ...well, monster...but in a nice way!....Let me explain. Kasumi notices Mr.Panda's (Genma Saotome) fur is sticking up, so she remedy's it by using a very HOT iron to iron down his fur... ....Anyways, other than that video, Kasumi is a very nice person. Think of Kasumi of the passive character in the whole series. She can't take advantage of anyone.
(Whereas, Kasumi's younger sister Nabiki is a different story...)

Kasumi's unflappable personality reminds me somewhat of Ami-chan from Sailor Moon, she's not as bright as Ami of course, and she doesn't spend all her time reading, cooking is more her forte.... I suppose that makes her a cross between Ami and Mako-chan .... any way, enough with the SM references already! Besides, Sheraye doesn't agree! ^-^

Nabiki Tendo

Nabiki can take advantage of ANYONE, and she TRIES to take advantage too! Ahh, the middle child. 17 year old Nabiki, that money-grubbing monster. I'll bet that she could smell money a mile away. Let's just say she's VERY financially secure, shall we? She's very shrewd and knows how to make cash..like selling "french" postcards of Ranma Girl-Type....or selling kettles of hot water to Ranma for a huge price.... or in any other way she can get her hands on money! She likes spending other people's cash..not her own. Nabiki is the kind of person that is logical and analytical. She adds a certain sense of cutting-edge humour to the whole series. Think of Nabiki as the money-grubber.

Soun Tendo

Soun Tendo is the father. He has a friend who's a panda...(a panda?..a PANDA?!?!??!?!).....named Genma Saotome who has a son which is the fiance of his youngest daughter-Akane. Soun is the kind of father that fears Akane's cooking and is very emotional. Soun gets really protective of his Akane when Ranma seems (SEEMS being the operative word) to back out of his marriage with her by flirting with disaster (which has a name by the way...It's Shampoo) or some little thing like that. He is a part walking-time-bomb. I guess that's where Akane gets it, eh? Soun is the overprotective cowardly father.

Tatewaki Kuno

The Great Poetry-Spouting-Sword Slashing Tatewaki Kuno! The one with slashes like lightning, moves like a panther, stupidity of a stone (he can't get the fact that Ranma Boy-Type is Ranma Girl-Type), and the pride of a peacock. Ranma Boy-Type easily defeats Tatewaki Kuno ANYTIME he goes up ag bf1 ainst him. Of course, Tatewaki fancies himself to be a ladies man, and he loves two ladies very dearly. Akane Tendo and...none other than RANMA!...Girl type of course. And he just can't seem to make up his mind between them! Tatewaki is the vain swordsman.

Kodachi Kuno

"Kodachi Kuno, the black rose of St.Hebereke...."....Yep, that's her. She's as crazy as her brother - Tatewaki Kuno, and her father - Principal Kuno. She has a ponytail on the side of her head, and she's a martial-arts gymnast. She can really wield a ribbon, but not as well as Ranma can! Kodachi met Ranma when some martial-arts gymnasts from his school were getting beaten by Kodachi, and Ranma stopped it. Then afterwards, the gymnasts begged Akane to fill in for them and fight off Kodachi in a tournament. Akane tries...to umm....LEARN the techniques, but she gets some sort of sprain and then she begs Ranma to fill in for HER! Ranma consents and then after Ranma (GIRL - TYPE of course, GUY - TYPE wouldn't be caught dead in a leotard).

Principal Kuno

Principal Kuno is the father of Kodachi and Tatewaki Kuno. Principal Kuno sounds Jamaican, has a TREE growing out of his head and is a psycho. I think he first appeared in the episode where Miss Hinako (see previous page for Miss Hinako's biography) appeared. He came into the class and introduced her. Principal Kuno is as twisted as his children are. No wonder!.. You know how the saying goes... : "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...".
